Family of slain man wants answers

The family of an ANC supporter shot dead during a protest in Lichtenburg, wants answers.
Moerane Mofokeng was killed, allegedly by police.
The deceased’s family is demanding accountability and for the law to take its course.
Maria Makganye, the sister of Mofokeng, said: “He was very supportive towards the whole family and this worries me because he was shot with [live] bullets while others were shot with rubber bullets.
“That means they had always targeted him. I’m so hurt because he’s my children’s uncle. He used to take care of us as a family.
“He made sure we have food to eat and we have clothes to wear. I’m so hurt I can’t even sleep properly at night. Even his nephew can’t sleep properly at night. He even asks me where his uncle is.
“This thing also hurts them so much. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the pain.”
