Actor and radio presenter, Skhumbuzo Mbatha has tested positive for Covid-19. The actor from Soweto, known as Meneer Manaka on SABC1’s Skeem Saam, took to social media to announce his results.
He said he tested for Covid-19 on Saturday, 26 June and received his results on Sunday.
He wrote on his Facebook page: “I tested for Covid-19 on Saturday 26 June, got my positive results the following day. Fortunately, I had been isolating ever since I started feeling sick on Saturday, 20 June.
“The discomfort of this condition is beyond measure. Covid-19 is real. Take care of yourselves.”
A few days earlier, he said he had not been feeling well in the past three days.
Messages of support and encouragement started flowing in. Tselane Molapo said: “Skhu, don’t worry you will be fine. There are many people who tested positive like you but now they are fine. Covid-19 is part of our lives nowadays so don’t panic. You will recover very soon.”
Queen Mogaba Sekele said: “Wishing you a speedy recovery, Skhu. I know what you are talking about. Covid-19 is painful. I tested positive in December. It wasn’t easy, especially being in isolation when you have kids in the house.”
Solly Nkadimeng said: “Get well soon, bro. I also tested positive. I’m home battling it.”
Trisha Morgan said: “I am praying for you. Sorry to hear this. Speedy recovery.”
“We will overcome this. A positive mind, good nutrition and resting are all we can do for now,” said Maboku Maleka.
Kenky Tshabangu said: “I know exactly what you are talking about, Skhu. I’ve been there.”
Daily Sun’s attempts to get hold of Skhumbuzo, who hosts Thobela FM’s top 30 on Saturdays from 10am to 1pm, were unsuccessful.
