Graves collapse into sinkholes in Merafong
Merafong is known for its gigantic sinkholes.
It’s not the first time community members have complained of these risks.
Now, a new, haunting situation has rocked the Khutsong area in Merafong.
Graves in parts of Khutsong, Fochville, and Greenspark have collapsed following heavy rains last week.
Families of the dead demand that the municipality fork out to restore the gravesites.
The Merafong Municipality’s told eNCA it’s aware of the situation and has vowed to act swiftly to fix the situation.
The DA is calling for accountability, saying the municipality needs to take urgent action.
