KwaZulu-Natal: At 11H12 Tuesday morning Netcare 911 responded to an industrial incident in Briardene Durban North. Reports indicate that a worker changing metal roof sheeting had fallen through at a joint between the two sheets.
The patient, an adult male approximately thirty years of age had fallen twelve meters, slamming headfirst into the concrete floor. The patient had worn a fall protection harness that was connected to a lead line, however, the lead line was not under tension.
The man was found to have sustained polytraumatic injuries and was stabilised on scene by a Netcare 911 emergency care practitioner. Once treated the patient was transported by ambulance to hospital for further care.

The City of Cape Town is offering a R5,000 reward for information that helps apprehend train vandals.
The municipality will pay whistleblowers R5,000 if it leads to the positive identification and arrest of those responsible for the stoning of a new train set.
The incident took place on its first day of operation in the Steenberg area last week. The City of Cape Town said the vandalism of critical infrastructure was unacceptable, even if it was perpetrated by young people who thought stoning trains is “fun”. Read More
