Inquest opened after child’s body discovered in shallow grave

Police have opened an inquest following the death of a 12-year-old boy from KwaNdengezi in KwaZulu-Natal.

It’s alleged the boy — who had cerebral palsy — died this past weekend and was buried in a shallow grave by his father.

The death was not reported to authorities.

There are allegations that the boy was mistreated and locked up in a Wendy house.

Deputy Minister of Social Development, Hendrietta Bogopane Zulu, said four women reported the matter to her.
