Cape Town dumps R715 million on sewer upgrades

The City of Cape Town is spending hundreds of millions on sewer upgrades for the Cape Flats.

The R715m pipeline rehabilitation project is expected to benefit around 300,000 in lower-income neighbourhoods.

It’s expected to be completed by 2025.

Clogged drains and overflowing sewers are sometimes due to the city’s overstretched and ailing infrastructure.
