Multiple shacks on fire at the Setswetla informal settlement in Alexandra

City of Joburg firefighters are attending to an incident of multiple shacks on fire at the Setswetla informal settlement in Alexandra.

At this stage, it’s still unclear what caused the blaze.

Gauteng EMS spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi said that no injuries had been reported.

“We continue to encourage our residents to look after any heating devices which might cause fire incidents at home during this winter season.”
