SABC 2 announces its new SeSotho telenovela

SABC 2 has announced its new upcoming Sesotho telenovela, Lithapo (tied that bind). Production on the show began in early October on location in Qwaqwa and continues in Johannesburg. It kicks off when the young Nolo’s mother suddenly dies and he decides to leave QwaQwa, his rural birthplace to find the father he never knew to secure his birthright, his father’s name.

The cast of Lithapo includes Joyce Skefu, Seputla Sebogodi, Mangaliso Ngema, Israel Zulu and Sthandiwe Kgoroge, who makes a return to the screen after a long hiatus blended with some new fresh, exciting young talent.

Speaking on the show, SABC 2 Programme Manager Jacqui Hlongwane shared his excitement to bring the show to local screens. He said in part, “SABC 2 is excited to welcome a brand new Sesotho telenovela aimed at captivating the audiences with authentic, local storytelling capturing the spirit of both our traditional rural communities in and the buzz of kasi life. The viewers can look forward to seeing the difference of both the streets of Qwaqwa and Sandton through the lens of an enchanting story. We are also most excited that Quizzical Pictures gathered a strong cast and talent second to none.”

Lithapo will debut on 13 January 2020 (Monday to Wednesdays) at 9:30 pm on SABC 2. SABC 2 announces its new SeSotho telenovela. We can’t wait to watch it!

In other news – Lady Zamar: I don’t feel safe

The rumour mill went into overdrive after Lady Zamar announced that she has withdrawn from a concert featuring her ex, Sjava. Zamar spoke out just one month ago about allegedly being abused at the hands of an ex.
