KwaZulu-Natal: Tuesday morning Netcare 911 responded to a collision outside a business premises off the R103 in Harrison, Pietermaritzburg.
Reports indicate that while reversing a heavy motor vehicle with a trailer out a driveway, the rear axle went over a steep bank resulting in the truck rolling over, crushing a portion of the cab in the process.
The driver, an adult male in his fifties, had sustained serious injuries and was treated on scene by a Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedic while a Netcare 911 rescue technician used hydraulic tools to free the man.
Once stabilized the patient was airlifted by Netcare 911 Helicopter to the hospital for further care.
