Senzo Meyiwa murder accused claims he’s never seen the ammo he’s charged with having

One of the accused in the Senzo Meyiwa trial, Bongani Ntanzi, said that police charged him for the possession of ammunition he has never seen, to this day.

The youngest of the five accused is on the witness stand testifying against the admission of two of his confession statements.

He signed two confession statements days after his arrest but insists he was tortured by police into doing so.

After Ntanzi was taken to the Moroka Police Station to make a confession statement – he was taken to the Vosloorus Magistrates Court – where it was found that the drug-related case was not enrolled.

Ntanzi and police returned to Moroka and then left for his home in Phokeng, where a search was conducted.

Ntanzi said that police left him in the car and came back with a black plastic bag with ammunition.

“I said I don’t know what that is and I asked that they open the bag and show me whats inside – but they never did.”

Ntanzi said he was then taken to the Phokeng Police Station, where he was charged for the unlawful possession of ammunition but said he has still never been shown the said rounds of ammunition.
