Senzo Mchunu: Municipalities are failing to maintain water systems
Water and Sanitation Minister, Senzo Mchunu, wants municipalities to prioritise water infrastructure instead of salaries.
Mchunu was speaking at the opening of this year’s Water Institute of SA Conference in Durban. KwaZulu-Natal has been facing persistent supply issues, and Gauteng is now being warned of a total collapse.
Mchunu say’s managers lack the skills and capacity to properly maintain systems.
