Duties and responsibilities:
Coordinate the Sexual Assault Response Team.
Manage the Sexual Assault Response Team case system.
Liaise with interlinked offices in the coordination of Sexual Assault and Discrimination matters.
Facilitate awareness campaigns on matters of Gender and Anti-Discrimination.
Conduct advocacy campaigns/ dialogues.
Conduct internal (office research) on matters of Gender and Discrimination.
Design and implement training programmes in Gender Equality and Anti-discrimination.
Submit monthly reports on the work of the office.
Develop appropriate advocacy strategies to ensure the development and delivery of impactful advocacy.
Network and maintain dialogue with relevant stakeholders, for example Government.
Lead assessment and research activities at community level to gather information and analysis on Gender Equality and Anti-discrimination.
Contribute to strategic planning, review and implement strategic objectives.
Ensure policy and systems compliance with legislative and constitutional mandates.
Liaise with DSDM on evaluation, mediation and resolution of relevant cases.
Assist in developing and implementing strategic and operational plans for the Qwaqwa campus office and the work on the South Campus.
Manage and mentor staff and students within the office of Gender Equality and Ant-Discrimination on all three campuses.
Improve the performance accountability of gender equality and anti-discrimination teams and systems.

Inherent requirements:
A relevant bachelor’s degree on NQF level 7 in Social Sciences or Law or a related discipline.
Two (2) to three (3) years’ relevant working experience related to the duties and responsibilities as listed above within the Higher Education environment.

Experience in the field of social justice/human rights within a higher education context.

Salary:

The salary scale is available on request.
