Update – Learner stabbed to death at Sebokeng school

A teenage boy has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his classmate to death at the Thuto Tiro Comprehensive School in Sebokeng.

Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi visited the school this afternoon and spoke to the grade 9 boys’ parents.

It’s understood a 15-year-old boy stabbed a 14-year-old boy with a pair of scissors in a classroom, during change of lessons.

Lesufi’s office says police are investigating claims that the boys were fooling around, when the incident happened.

Counselling will be provided to the boys’ families, teachers and pupils.
