Education Department concerned by school vandalism

The Basic Education Department says it’s is also concerned about schools that were vandalized during recent protests.
It’s condemning the violent acts but, it says this will not stop it from reopening all schools.
The department said it is preparing to reopen all schools on Monday.
Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga said, “I received a list from the MEC of KZN of 137 schools which were vandalized, three education centres, and eight circuit offices which were affected. The much-needed infrastructure was damaged and it’s a serious setback. The province is making all necessary arrangements that all schools open on Monday and that teaching and learning continues.”
