Sassa grant recipient dies in queue
Sassa has extended its condolences to the family of a man who died recently following a visit to its Gugulethu offices.
Community leaders say the death could have been avoided as many people like the deceased queue for hours despite their health issues. Women, children and the disabled are among hundreds who queue daily.
Community leaders say they are sick and tired of complaining about the same issues and want an urgent intervention.
Sassa says it’s aware of the chaos outside its Gugulethu office and is doing all it can to resolve the situation.
It hopes to deliver more infrastructure to help communities and those without access to the internet to make use of their efficient services online.
