KZN Cogta increases Sassa grant

Deputy Social Development Minister, Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu, is visiting families affected by the floods.
She will be in Ugu District in Port Shepstone.
The department has deployed over 300 social service professionals to affected areas.
At the same time, Sassa has increased its relief grant for KZN flood victims.
It’s been upped from R700 to R1,980 but this is for disaster cases only where all belongings have been lost.
Where there’s been a death, the amount will be doubled.
Nearly 400 people have lost their lives, while thousands have been displaced.
The Provincial Government has also set up an account for donations towards disaster relief.
