Sasco calls for student debt audit

Student organisation Sasco is still calling for an audit of student debt. That’s despite welcoming the extra billions allocated to the National Student Financial Aid Scheme in the Budget.
Sasco secretary-general Buthanani Thobela says historical debt needs to be dealt with.

“We need to bring the private sector, bring government and say we need to audit the student historic debt in South Africa,” he said.
