SARS apologises for e-filing glitch

The South African Revenue Service is yet to fix its software problem that’s preventing some taxpayers from submitting their returns through e-filing. SARS has apologised to the public, citing an apparent outdated Adobe Flash software.

Adobe has been warning users that it will stop updating and distributing the Flash Player at the end of 2020.

The software maker recommended all users immediately uninstall Flash Player to help protect their systems.

Analysts believe SARS had dragged its feet in making the necessary changes.
