SARB hikes repo rate to 5.5%

The South African Reserve Bank hikes the repo rate by 75 basis points to 5.5%.

Reserve Bank Governor, Lesetja Kganyakgo made the announcement on Thursday. The prime lending rate at banks is now 9%.
