Western Cape still counting the cost of Santaco taxi strike

The Western Cape continues to count the damage following last week’s eight-day taxi strike.
Philippi Village tenants say the strike didn’t end on the streets, but followed them to their homes and businesses.
Philippi Village is a business and community hub located in one of the townships just outside Cape Town.
“When something like a situation of this nature occurs, it means that businesses that need to trade in order to put bread on the table are unable to do so,” said Philippi Village Head of Programs, Angelo Teffo.
