Minimum requirements for the role:
Minimum Matric is essential.
Progress towards a relevant tertiary qualification in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is essential.
Previous relevant experience with specific knowledge gained in the paint industry is essential.
Working knowledge of the technical aspects of the paint process would be advantageous.
Must have proven track records in paint raw material sales, traceable reference and be chemical literate.
Must be very strong commercially.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Identifying potential new offerings in conjunction with the sales team.
Seeking new markets and potential offering.
Managing relations with key clients (both current and new).
Compiling weekly and monthly pipeline reports.
Achieving weekly and monthly sales and development targets.
Maintaining and updating client records in respect of work completed/projected.
Maintaining and building relationships with existing and new client.
Maintaining ongoing records of current and future client needs.
Maintaining and updating client database.
Supplementing existing company database through the scanning of the market, professional publications, newspapers and other sources.
Revising database information as part of the email advertisement function.
Conducting product survey usage in their portfolio and recommending new product additions.
Occasionally hosting principals that supply products for the concerned portfolio.
Exhibiting clear knowledge of competitor activities and the general business environment.
Coordinating sales operations in the absence of the Assistant Manager.
