Our company (listed on the JSE) is launching a new luxury inbound tour operator. We are looking to recruit a Sales and Product Support person to assist our Sales and Product Team.
As a Sales and Product support you will be driven to be the best and enjoy working in a client orientated sales environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a Sales and Product assistant to be rewarded for the work that they do.
The applicant must have a proven track record of successfully selling luxury and experiential travel itineraries and reaching set targets with the focus on luxury service and accommodation across Southern, East and Central Africa.
Responsibilities
Destination and suppliers research
Availability check and reservations process
Office management (answering the phone, preparing boardroom for meetings and so on)
High-level content writing (suppliers and destinations descriptions)
Keeping your product and brand knowledge up to date while having in-dept knowledge of the company’s products and destinations
Assisting in the support of sales and administration team members
Assist with any other tasks given by your manager
Ownership of a workflow and its process
Develop product knowledge by undergoing training and by self-determined learning
Sourcing of maps, driving directions and destination guides notes for clients
Resolve any issues that may arise efficiently and professionally
When required, assist with rates administration and related data capturing on the in-house reservation system
Required Skills
computer literacy : 4 to 5 years
project management : 1 to 2 years
administrative support assistant : 1 to 2 years
computer literacy : 4 to 5 years
Candidate Requirements
Experience Needed
Local and international experience in travel product assistance with the focus on luxury service and accommodation across Southern, East and Central Africa
Excellent continent wide geographical and first-hand product knowledge is a must
Previous experience working on Globetrack
Previous administrative support
Basic knowledge of the African Travel destinations and suppliers
Excellent track record of assisting a team with their research or administrative needs
Project management
Requirements
Grade 12 senior certificate, relevant tertiary education in travel and tourism is desirable
Excellent communication and literacy skills
A minimum of three years’ product assistance experience, within the luxury travel industry.
Being able to communicate at all levels is important
A Keen eye for detail
Computer Literacy
Ability to interpret Service Level Agreement reports
This position reports to: Sales Manager
