SAHRC blasts Kenny Kunene for spreading false & dangerous statements in controversial Miss SA saga

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has blasted Patriotic Alliance (PA) Deputy President Kenny Kunene for spreading what the Chapter 9 institution has labeled “false and dangerous” statements in the controversial Miss South Africa saga.

In a recent interview on the SABC, Kunene told the public broadcaster the commission would take action against critics of former Miss SA contestant Chidimma Adetshina.

Adetshina dropped out of the beauty contest amid questions about her nationality.

A spokesperson for the commission, Wisani Baloyi, denied issuing a statement to this effect.

“The commission is disappointed that a senior leader of a political party that is part of the Government of National Unity participated in an interview without factual information, continuing to perpetuate false information about an institution established by the Constitution of the Republic.”
