Durban taxis install safety cameras

Taxi association, Santaco has made it its priority to ensure the safety of taxi users and commuters in KwaZulu-Natal.

At least 70 taxis in the North and South Beach areas of Durban have been fitted with surveillance equipment.

Santaco KZN spokesperson, Sifiso Shangase says not only do these cameras monitor activity within the taxi but it also monitors driver speed and geo-location which gives owners the upper hand.
