COVID-19: SAFA demands suspension of football matches

The South African Football Association was not happy with suggestions of matches being played behind closed doors. Sports Minister Nathi Mthethwa gave the PSL the go-ahead, to look into playing domestic matches behind closed doors.

But SAFA has insisted that matches remain suspended due to the threat of COVID-19. SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan says SAFA’s decision is final and binding. South Africa has 116 confirmed coronavirus cases.
