Unions claim SAA is firing over 200 employees

South African Airways unions say the airline is firing 200 staff members.

Over 200 staff members will reportedly be let go by the end-March.

Members of the South African Cabin Crew Association (SACCA) and the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) picketed at the Public Enterprises Department in Pretoria on Tuesday over alleged corruption at SAA.

Unions claim corruption is still rife at the carrier.

The airline says these are internal staff issues and will be addressed internally.
