DPE to pay outstanding salaries to SAA employees

The Public Enterprises Department has agreed to pay three months outstanding salaries to South African Airways employees who have not been paid for eight months.

This is a revised, full, and final settlement offer by the department.

Employees will also be back paid a 5.9-percent increase, which will be paid as a lump sum.

Thirteenth cheques will be paid to all employees except for pilots. Unions must provide feedback on the offer by the close of business on Thursday.

Public Enterprises says this is so that payment can happen as soon as possible.
