SAA board chairperson resigns

SAA Chairperson, Johannes Bekumuzi Magwaza has tendered his resignation. Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan says this is for personal reasons.

It comes just over a month after Vuyani Jarana resigned as the airlines CEO. Gordhan says they are looking into filling his position.

“Let me take this opportunity to thank outgoing SAA chairperson Magawaza, who tendered his resignation for personal reasons… a vacancy on the board will be filled shortly,” Grodhan said.

The airline has been struggling to stay afloat with government bailout after government bailout.
