SA records 16,055 new COVID-19 infections, 25 deaths
COVID-19 infections are continuing to skyrocket. The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) reported that 16,055 new COVID-19 infections were recorded in the past 24 hours.
Gauteng accounts for over 11,500 of the new cases. A further 25 people have died from COVID-19 related complications, taking the death toll to 89,994.
The positivity rate currently stands at 24.3 percent.
