SA records 1,228 new COVID-19 cases, 8 deaths

South Africa has recorded 1,228 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours. Gauteng is leading in terms of new infections with 498 cases.
Mpumalanga is second with over 160 cases. The positivity rate stands at 7.6% percent.
8 people have died, taking the death toll to 96,021.
