South Africa officially in fourth COVID-19 wave

South Africa is officially in the fourth wave and getting vaccinated is the best way to ride it out, according to health authorities.
COVID-19 cases have been increasing rapidly in the past week, driven by the more transmissible Omicron variant. Deputy Health Minister Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo said the country is in the fourth wave.
“When you look at the positivity rate, two weeks ago we were sitting at 1 percent. But when you look at it now, we’re on 25 percent positivity rate, therefore that indicates that we’re definitely in the fourth wave,” he said.
