Ramaphosa says SA government and private sector partnership making progress

President Cyril Ramaphosa says the private sector has contributed more than R170 million to support the government’s initiatives since June last year.

In his weekly letter published on Monday, Ramaphosa says the partnership is yielding remarkable progress.

Ramaphosa added that business has also helped the government to tackle load shedding, freight and port challenges as well as crime and corruption.

More than 130 CEOs from the country’s leading companies have pledged their support and have since mobilized over 350 technical experts to support the government’s work.

The president said the private sector would soon deploy skilled experts to help Eskom, while others have been assisting Transnet to improve the country’s ports and freight rail systems.

He added that the partnership has also seen steady progress being made in the fight against crime and corruption.

The president’s letter emphasizes the need to work together to make a lasting difference in South Africa over the next few months.
