SA coronavirus cases rise to 554

The number of COVID-19 cases in South Africa has risen to 554, Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize said on Tuesday. There has been an increase of 152 cases since the last announcement.

Two people are in critical condition in ICU in private hospitals.

Meanwhile, the country will be on lockdown from Thursday evening.

This was announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa as one of the government’s measures to combat the spread of COVID-19.
