Russia has declared a partial ceasefire in two cities in Ukraine. It’s allowing people to leave Mariupol and Volnovakha. The move comes as its attack on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is widely condemned.
Russian troops seized the facility after a firefight with Ukrainian forces. The skirmish led to a fire at the plant, with firefighters struggling to get in to contain it.
The US told the UN the attack was reckless and endangered the lives of people across Europe.
