A 52-year-old man in Canada sustained serious injuries on Tuesday morning, 5 April after he was crushed in the back of a rubbish truck.
According to the Penticton Herald, the truck driver called the cops at about 6am while collecting rubbish from bins.
In a statement, Royal Canadian Mounted police spokesman Sergeant Bob Vatamaniuck said the driver of the truck called the emergency services after he was told that someone was yelling in the back of his big truck.
“Police arrived a short time later and determined that a 52- year-old man appeared to have been sleeping in an unlocked recycling dumpster and the truck picked up the dumpster, dumped it into the back of the large truck, and mechanically compacted the load,” he said.
“Emergency crews attended and were able to extract the man and transport him for medical care. The male is suffering from life-threatening injuries,” he added.
