City of Tshwane seeks to recommission Rooiwal Power Station

Rooiwal Power Station has not produced any electricity since 2013.

The City says it cannot be sitting with such an asset and not do anything about it while the country faces rolling blackouts.

The plan is to recommission the power station.

This will take time but the City says it has to have back up power as Eskom remains unreliable.
