KwaZulu-Natal: At 10H00 Tuesday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a one-day-old baby boy had been found on a roadside pile of rubbish in Burlington Heights Chatsworth.
A Netcare 911 Emergency Care Practitioner assessed the child which still had the placenta attached.
The baby was completely covered in ants, had severe dehydration, and battling to breathe.
The child was placed in a Netcare 911 ambulance where he was treated.
Once stabilized the baby was transported to the hospital for further assessment.
