SA lockdown – Roadblocks tighten, only essential travel permitted

Police are out on the streets making sure only essential service workers are driving around.

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced almost two weeks ago that only essential travel would be permitted.

Essential service workers are required to travel with our ID documents and permits.

Every vehicle going in both directions on this busy road – is stopped and checked.

Officers say those who can’t explain where they’re going – or produce essential service worker permits – are given heavy fines.

Jail time is also possible.
