Alex crime spree suspects remain in custody

The case against 12 people accused of causing terror and chaos in Alexandra has been postponed to 1 August for a formal bail application.

On Monday morning they made a brief appearance before the Alexandra magistrate’s court where they received legal aid.

The accused face various charges including murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and attempted murder.

Investigations are ongoing and the state says it will oppose bail.
