Refilwe Modiselle shares the hard truth about being born with albinism

Living with a condition that others see as either a curse or very good luck cannot be easy, but South Africans are a strong nation. Actress Refilwe Modiselle recently gave her view on what it’s like living with albinism, and she’s serving as an inspiration.

Refilwe Modiselle is a gorgeous model that is happily and proudly doing her thing and looking amazing while at it. She’s an inspiration for other South Africans living with albinism and although she’s always brimming with joy, she also knows the pain of living with this condition. It is thanks to how she was raised, the model says, that she can be happy and accept and love herself.

Taking to social media, the model opened up about how her mother and grandmother loved her and never rejected her. However, she also pointed out that many babies get thrown away – quite literally – because parents cannot accept that their children are different. Refilwe feels that all children are blessings, regardless of what their skin looks like.

Like Refilwe, there are other South Africans that are showing the world their beauty and we are so proud of them. In the acting world, people are seeing that people with albinism are no different and breaking down myths.

The gorgeous Michelle Mosalaka and Uzalo’s Simphiwe Nxumelo and Owethu Zulu have been praised for their work, Models Nontobeko Mbuyazi and Sanele Xaba are pursuing modelling careers and excelling at it. Mzansi can be proud of its people, regardless of colour.
