Zandile Mafe’s rant raises red flags, says his lawyer

Zandile Mafe’s lawyer Luvuyo Godla says his rant in court raises serious red flags.

Mafe, who is charged with terrorism and blamed for the fire at Parliament in January 2022, went on a rant before his case could start on Thursday.

He has admitted to starting the fire.

Mafe was sent to Fort England Psychiatric Hospital in March for assessment.

Godla says his client just wants the matter to be settled.

“His conduct of today raises a red flag to us to say look, we really need to engage an independant pyscharist so that everything can be verified,” said Godla.
