About the Receptionist

The main purpose of this role is to provide an excellent front-of-house reception service which includes facilitating our Innovation Hub scheduled for visitors. Creating a positive customer experience as well as fostering positive professional relationships within the workplace.

Receptionist responsibilities:

  • Acting as the initial point of contact between all clients, visitors and employees.
  • Assist visitors by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately and efficiently.
  • Answer, screen and forward any incoming phones calls while presenting essential information when needed.
  • Distribution of electronic correspondence, taking messages where appropriate, and directing accordingly.
  • Receive and sort received mail, deliveries, couriers etc.
  • Providing administrative support to the Operations Officer as required.
  • Complete any other related clerical duties as may be required.
  • Ensuring reception area is always kept clean and tidy.
  • Offer and arrange refreshments for visitors on arrival.
  • Book & Co-ordinate meeting rooms bookings for various teams as required.
  • Designated responsibility for facilitating the Innovation Hub schedule and requirements
  • Adhere to required health and safety protocol requirements.
  • Ensuring relevant reception Heath & Safety protocols are adhered to (e.g. Covid compliance and sign in of all parties entering the premises)
  • Always maintain professionalism when engaging with clients, visitors and employees.
  • Attend to Adhoc special requests.

Role requirements are:

  • Matric/NQF4 or equivalent essential
  • Post Matric qualification would be advantageous.
  • Competence in MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • 2 – 4 yrs experience as a Receptionist/Concierge/Front of House essential
  • Experience gained in a corporate environment or within the hospitality industry front-of-house, e.g. Hotels
  • Competent Professional business written and verbal communications skills.
  • The ability to express yourself clearly and effectively in at least two official South African languages, with English being essential.
  • Professional, neat, and well presented for this front facing client role.
