ANC ready to host January 8 celebrations

It’s just two days from its 110th-anniversary celebration and the ANC says it’s ready to play host to members in Polokwane this weekend.
ANC MEC Member Nomvula Mokonyane briefed the media on the party’s preparedness to host the birthday celebrations.
She says they’re all ready to go.
Mokonyane said due to COVID-19 restrictions, only 2,000 people will be allowed to attend the event at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
She’s pleading with provinces to stick to the numbers.
“Reality is we find ourselves in a COVID situation. I can tell had we not had restrictions in terms of the numbers, the whole country will be here,” she said.
“We are encouraging provinces to organize and ensure that there are public viewings where they are. We are pleading with those that assume that it is a given for them to be invited.
“Under these circumstances, we are unable to bring everybody who wishes to be in the stadium to be there.”
