Alleged hospital rape investigated

A 15-year-old -girl was allegedly raped by a fellow patient at a psychiatric ward in a Stellenbosch hospital.

Western Cape Health MEC Nomafrench Mbombo says an internal investigation will uncover why a male and female patient were in the same ward.

The teen’s mother says the system has failed them.
