Julius Malema vows to raid Phala Phala should EFF be voted into power

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has promised to raid President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm if it ascends to the highest seat in the land.

His comments come despite concerns about his links to corruption.

Malema said should the EFF be voted into power, it would tackle all criminals including corrupt politicians.

Malema delivered an address before thousands of EFF supporters at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday.

This was his final message to supporters following months of being on the campaign trail.

Malema referred to Ramaphosa’s interview with Primedia, touching on the president saying he would pay back the money.

“We said to you the president has dollars in a mattress and in the sofas, you said we are lying. The president said himself four days ago. I am going to pay back those dollars to the buyer. You can see we caught a thief red-handed. If we never spoke of him having those dollars, he wouldn’t have paid back the money.”

Malema also attempted to clarify his party’s position on migration, which he has muddied.

However, he lays the blame on right-wing and liberal organisations for the confusion.

He said that they have been spreading lies that his party would encourage illegal immigration.

Malema also said that his comments from the past that people should find creative ways to make it into the country never meant it should be done without proper documentation.

“There will not be illegal immigration in South Africa, there won’t be a person without documents, everybody in SA will be documented, whether they came here for whatever reason, we are going to be an Africa-friendly government,” said Malema.
