Rafael Nadal wife’s wedding dress is seen for the first time

Fans have been given the first look at the stunning bespoke gown worn by Mery Perelló for her wedding to tennis ace Rafael Nadal over the weekend. Mery, 31, donned a breathtaking long-sleeved dress by Spanish designer Rosa Clara to tie the knot with her sports star beau, 33, at the British-owned La Fortaleza – Spain’s most expensive property – on Mallorca on Saturday. The couple shared two stunning snaps from the lavish nuptials online yesterday, including the first full-length photo of Mery’s demure wedding dress.

The loved-up newlyweds are seen standing with their arms wrapped around each other as they posed for photos at the stunning Spanish fort. Writing on her blog, Rosa Clara revealed the bride was heavily involved in creating the dress – which featured Art Deco-inspired lace and a bejewelled neckline – as well as a second, slinkier gown worn to the evening reception.

Rosa also revealed she had dressed Mery’s mother, María Pascual, as well as Rafael’s mother, Ana María Parera, and sister, Maribel Nadal, also known as Isabel Marie, in designs from her cocktail collection. Photos show Maribel wearing an eye-catching red gown with a flattering boat neck and jewel detailing.

In a statement shared online, Rosa said: ‘I feel very fortunate to have met Mery and to have designed the wedding dress she had always dreamed of. Being part of this moment is thrilling and a little scary — the responsibility that comes with a wedding like this that receives so much international attention is enormous. The connection with Mery was immediate, as it was with her mother and Rafa’s mother and sister. They’re an extraordinary family and it has been a pleasure to work with them.

Rafael and insurance worker Mery, who have been in a relationship for 14 years, married in front of 350 guests at the beautiful 17th-century property, which overlooks the bay of Pollensa in north-east Mallorca. The former fort has featured in several big-budget film and television dramas – including the critically-acclaimed Night Manager – and is now one of the country’s most sought-after wedding venues. Mery’s first gown featured a bodice with a jewel-embellihed neckline and long sleeves and was made of beautiful Art Deco-inspired French lace. The ballgown-style skirt, made of silk crepe, featured a weightless detachable train. Mery completed her bridal look with a wonderfully subtle silk tulle veil. The bride wore her hair in loose, natural waves styled in a half-up hairdo. In one sweet moment captured on camera, Rafael was seen tucking a flyaway strand behind his wife’s ear.
