This is how Tbo Touch became the highest paid radio host in SA

Thabo “Tbo Touch” Molefe said he’s the highest-paid radio host in Mzansi, and everything he has achieved is through hard work.

The host of Touch Down on Metro FM said this while speaking at the Motlhabane Men’s Seminar in Tshwane on Saturday, 30 July.

He said the youth needed to move away from a poverty mindset and make things happen for themselves. “There are certain circumstances in life which made me conclude that being black is a setup. Black people have a schizophrenia to success.

“When one is successful, they start questioning the source of income. We don’t have a healthy relationship with success,” he said.

“Since 2020, I’ve been in negotiations with the public broadcaster after resigning in 2016 on my own terms. What I brought to the table was 14 years of consistent delivery, years that qualify me to make demands because experience qualifies certain decisions.”

He said when he got the call to return to Metro FM in January this year, the deal happened on his own terms. “Some people might think I’m big heads but, no, this guy is a reservoir of excellence because I know what I’m bringing to the table,” he said.

He told men that God had already paved the way but a person also had to do some paving.

“Nothing is handed on a silver platter. You cannot leave a legacy of something you didn’t pay for.

I am here to break the cycle of poverty and know that no one owes you anything,” he said.
