Cape Town working on securing good quality water

As other parts of the country battle with poor water quality, the City of Cape Town is focusing its attention on three natural aquifers to ensure good quality water for the future.

It’s currently working on three city groundwater projects to bring enough groundwater to contribute to the city’s drinking supply by 2036.

The new water programme will see a R4.7-billion investment in the Cape Flats Aquifer, Table Mountain Group Aquifer as well as the Atlantis Aquifer.

Even though the project is a big step in the right direction, officials are still encouraging everyone to be water-wise.
