Main purpose of the role will be to ensure that the company’s products meet the client and consumer demands/ requirements. This role will report into the Footwear Technologist and will be based in Isando.

Quality control/ assurance
Provide support and ensured maintenance of quality standards
Establish quality procedures, standards and specifications
To ensure that the product is fit for purpose, is consistent and meets both external and internal requirements and customer expectations
Coordinate the activities required to meet quality standards
Monitor and advise on the performance of the quality audits
Liaise with fellow staff to ensure that the quality management procedures are functioning properly. Where appropriate, advice on changes and how to implement them
Ensure bulk orders are in line with approved confirmation samples and are within the company’s accepted tolerance
Monitor all inspection issues on the appraisal report and carry out stock inspections
Carry out analysis of rejected orders and paperwork and implement any return to supplier policies if requested
Maintain quality assurance standard processes

Bulk Audit inspections
Bulk Audit inspections ensuring that bulk is in line with the confirmation sample & appraisal reports
Bulk audit appraisal reports to be completed and forwarded to the relevant parties
Create stock transfers of rejected stocks to the relevant holding sites
Undertake 100% inspections when requested
Rework orders with minor quality issues
Follow ups on rejected orders with relevant office support
Liaise with warehouse management on QA holding sites
Random quality checks of warehouse stock when requested

Assess and quantify store returns and Store staff QA training
Assess returns to determine if they are valid /invalid
Create stock transfers of rejected stocks to the relevant holding sites
Document findings and communicate this with support office
Compile individual store return reports with photos for operations
Compile monthly return reports for QC management
Liaison between the store and customer service to resolve any emerging problems that our customers face with products and quality
Train store staff on how to identify what’s a valid and invalid fault
Staff training on how to fix minor issues at store level

General Tasks and Adhoc projects?
Assist with stock for sample sales etc.
Undertake any tasks and projects assigned to by management
General housekeeping

Good time management skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Accurate and organised with attention to detail
Good staff management and inter departmental skills
Team player and ability to assist when required to

3-5 years practical knowledge of the footwear manufacturing industry

Grade 12 (Matric)

Quality control and bulk audit functions
MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Experience with quality management and production process
Footwear manufacturing knowledge
Maintain quality assurance standards and process
