Public sector strike imminent

Public sector trade unions have decided to continue putting pressure on the government to accept their 10 percent wage hike.

A process will get underway to mobilize members toward strike action, with notice due to being served on 22 February.

Unions are also planning to skip Friday’s Special Council meeting with the government, meant to kick-start negotiations for the 2023/2024 financial year.

There will be pickets at the Finance Minister’s and MEC’s budget speeches in the coming weeks.
